Survey of Employee Engagement

Bryan Collier
Executive Director

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the state’s elected officials value your opinion and are providing you with an opportunity to express your views about employment with the state of Texas and the agency through the Survey of Employee Engagement.

The Survey of Employee Engagement is coordinated by the University of Texas School of Social Work at Austin’s Institute for Organizational Excellence and allows state employees to anonymously and collectively make their opinions known. Please note that this survey is not the agency’s Correctional Retention and Wellness (CReW) Survey, which is delivered anonymously to your cell phone.

Between December 4, 2023, and January 12, 2024, you will be provided the opportunity to complete the Survey of Employee Engagement. This survey is conducted every two years. The survey requires just a few minutes to complete, and it can be completed during work hours, such as during shift turnout for correctional staff. A postage-paid envelope will be provided along with the survey. After sealing your completed survey in the envelope, you can mail the survey from your work location or from a public mailbox. In addition, you may complete the survey online. Instructions for online completion will be provided on the hard copy survey.

You have a choice. You can make your opinions known to those who can make a difference, or you can decline this unique opportunity. Again, the choice is yours. I encourage you to participate in this survey. Your opinion is important.
