Fraudulent Calls Being Made to Citizens in Texas

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) would like to alert everyone to fraudulent calls being made to citizens in Texas and elsewhere by individuals posing as being with the Parole or Reentry and Integration Division of the agency. Like other phone-based fraud, the caller asks for personal information such as a home address, birth date, or Social Security number. They may also request that you send them money to resolve a warrant. TDCJ staff will not call and ask for personal identifying information or ask that you send money over the phone or via the internet.
