Summary of Incident:  On 10/6/2002, in Ellis County, Texas, Sprouse was experiencing car trouble at a gas station. He approached a customer and asked for assistance. When the customer was not able to repair his vehicle, Sprouse shot a hispanic male civilian who was filling his car with gas. The store clerk called the police. Upon arrival, Sprouse shot the responding 28 year old white male police officer resulting in his death.
