Summary of Incident: On September 25, 1996, in Tyler, Ladd robbed and murdered a 38 year old female. The victim was beaten to death with a hammer inside her home and her body set on fire. Prior to her death, the victim's legs and wrist had been bound by a cord. Several items were stolen from her residence following the murder, including electronic items, kitchen appliances, jewelry and food.
