Recognize National Crime Victims’ Rights Week with TDCJ
April 15, 2026

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) Victim Services Division (VSD) invites you to the 2026 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Commemorative Ceremony on April 23, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Texas Prison Museum in Huntsville.
Every April, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) is held to promote victims’ rights and to honor crime victims and the criminal justice professionals who advocate for them. The 2026 NCVRW is celebrated from April 19-25, 2026, with recognition events scheduled across the state.
This year’s theme, “CommUNITY” emphasizes the importance of unity within each community to assure victims are afforded their rights and given the necessary space to heal.
“Let us come together in remembrance and solidarity to honor survivor strength, criminal justice advocate dedication, and to strengthen our collective response to crime victimization.” Angie McCown director of the Victim Services Division said.
The ceremony will offer an hour of reflection.
All members of the public are invited to join TDCJ's Victim Services Division at this commemorative ceremony.
