TDCJ employees raise more than $842,000 for 2019 SECC
Contributions to the 2019 State Employee Charitable Campaign have been calculated and Texas Department of Criminal Justice employees continue to honor their tradition of providing vital assistance for the less fortunate by donating a total of $842,556 to charities and aid organizations in Texas and across the nation.
TDCJ’s SECC Coordinator Stephanie Peterson commented on the campaign’s long record of success: “The 2019 campaign marked 26 years of faithful, selfless giving to the State Employee Charitable Campaign. The continued commitment to helping those in need exemplifies the giving spirit of the employees of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.”
SECC charities are checked to make sure they meet all legal requirements and that all funds are distributed as directed by each contributor. This year, registered SECC charities will benefit from more than $485,000 in cash contributions and nearly $357,000 in donations made through payroll deductions.
The SECC runs from September through October of every year.
